Mason Found His Dixie

VERSE 1
When Mason was a kid, he had a dream
That just beyond the  hills and that line of trees
There was a great big world out there that He just had to see.
He grew up fast as a son of the South
but he never forgot what his dream was about
So one day he packed his bags, and he headed out west
-------
He Kissed his Mama, shook hands with his Pa
Hugged the dog and he waved to them all
Then he hitchhiked his way to the land of the sun
Well there were movie stars and fancy cars,
the streets were paved and people were named like Buffy and Luna and Ashton , Tristan or Tad.

CHORUS
Well, He needed a friend to remind him of home
And He found him in a box full of chicken bones.
A blue tick hound - the porch dog of Mississippi
So he gave him the name to fit his pedigree
That's when Mason found his Dixie

VERSE 2
Dixie never went far from Mason's side
they were on a mission to try and find
A PBR or a Waffle House  or even a bag of fried pork rinds
The tea they serve ain't never sweet
When he asks for grits he gets cream of wheat
Dawg gone ain't neither one eating nothing wrapped in seaweed
------------
Seems everybody here's got a jogging suit
But you can't find overalls or chugga boots
It's just a southern thing - and he's a southern man
He wished he was  back in the land of cotton
Old times there are not forgotten
No place like home, they're headed back to Dixieland !

CHORUS
Well, He needed a friend to remind him of home
And I found him in a box full of chicken bones.
A blue tick hound - the porch dog of Mississippi
So he gave him the name to fit his pedigree
That's when Mason found his Dixie

Chorus
